Volunteering isn’t something that Blake Blackburn leaves to just the moms. As a father to two athletes Blake has made it a priority to help and volunteer with both of his children’s extracurricular activities whenever possible. There are many things to love about volunteering, but for this dad it always goes back to the kids.
“I love seeing the kids be able to do additional things that they might not have otherwise,” Blake said.
Currently Blake holds the title as President to the varsity cheer booster club.
“A typical day involves finding and gathering the needed resources for the varsity cheer squad that is not provided by the school,” Blake said.
Although Blake may only officially volunteer for the cheer booster that does not stop him from lending a helping hand to any and all of his friends and families children’s sports and extracurricular activities.
Not only does Blake keep himself busy with the cheer booster club, but he also works for the Industrial Coatings Distributor. He grew up in Catoosa, attending and graduating from the high school. Blake grew up playing football from the time he was in the fourth grade and through three years of college at the University of Tulsa. He went on to attend Oklahoma State University and earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration. Blake has two children, a 21-year-old boy, and a 14-year-old daughter who currently attends Catoosa High School as a freshman.
