9 Q’s with Catoosa Volleyball’s Frankie Jeremiah Presented by Catoosa Dental Arts

VYPE: When and how did you first get into playing your sport?
Frankie: In eighth grade, my best friend Ta’Nei West was going to try out for volleyball and she asked me if I wanted to try out with her and I said yes. Right from the start I fell in love with it even though I didn’t understand it.

VYPE: What is the best advice that anyone has given you?
Frankie: My wrestling coach Andrew told me some advice when I had lost at state and I was very upset. He told me that I needed to remember this feeling and to use that feeling to get better and take state next year.

VYPE: Which professional athlete do you look up to?
Frankie: Sha’carri Richardson, I can appreciate that even though she went through a lot of hardships, she never let it get in the way of her love for the sport she played. She even now continues to accomplish so many things though maybe people didn’t believe in her.

VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you?
Frankie: Hawaii! I would take my family and a few of my friends, a well needed vacation before we start off a new season and school year!

VYPE: Why are you passionate about your sport?
Frankie: Volleyball gives you a different drive that you can’t just expect to be handed to you. You have to have the perfect pass, to have the perfect set, to have a perfect kill. I love the idea how it’s all skill based and that you have to work at it to be better!

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you?
Frankie: I would say Tinsley Mitchell, she has shown me how to better myself as a person and as a teammate. She’s always helping me be a better player and showing me what could help me.

VYPE: Who inspires you and why?
Frankie: My parents inspire me. They show me what it means to be a Christian and how to let your light show.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade?
Frankie: It would either be my English teacher Wes Hammons from tenth grade, or my coach Andrew DeArmond. They both have a sense of humor but can also get their point across. They are helpful in and outside of the classroom and can be understanding with everyone.

VYPE: Here is your chance to give a shoutout or say thank you to anyone you wish.
Frankie: I want to say thank you to all of my friends and family for supporting me and always being there for me! I’d also like to thank the Charles family for allowing me to be a part of their lives and including me in everything they do!
