OUTLOOK
Catoosa will be relying on incoming freshmen in 2023 under head coach Russell Wood, who guided the Indians to a 14-19 overall record last season. “Leaning on incoming freshmen to contribute early and often,” Wood said. “Our upperclassmen will be asked to lead our program, both on and off the field, while creating great team unity.” Expected to make impacts are infielders Carmen Ellis, Jordan Scarvace, MJ Cooper, Bailey Biggs and Jasmine Byrum. Outfielders who will contribute are Lucianna Underwood, Andrea Reyes and Anna McMaster. Pitchers/infielders are Shayne Schornick and Maddi Hammers. Biggs will also help in the outfield and as a pitcher, Autumn Shearer will handle catcher duties, and Byrum will also see time in the outfield.
