VYPE: What has been your favorite memory of playing?
Tinsley: My favorite memory of playing has to be when my volleyball team played Inola last year. We are rivals and had lost to them previously, but it was a home game and we came to play. We hustled and hadgood energy throughout the whole game and ended up winning. It was extremely exciting and definitely the highlight of my career.
VYPE: What is the best advice that anyone has given you?
Tinsley: The best advice someone has given me is to not get into my head. More than one person has said this but it’s something I need to work on.
VYPE: Why are you passionate about your sport?
Tinsley: I’m passionate about my sport because I just enjoy the game so much. It’s fast
paced and you’re constantly having to think and prepare for what’s going to happen next. I love when our team is playing well and the energy levels are through the roof and everyone is excited.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you?
Tinsley: Kahli O’Neal had left the biggest impression on me. She was a senior while I was a freshman and she helped me the most. I get in my head a lot and she’s the only one who could get me out. She helped me learn how to play at the high school level and she was always the teammate most excited for me.
VYPE: When and how did you first get into playing your sport?
Tinsley: My grandma introduced me to volleyball. She was a head coach for a long time and when I was younger I went to her volleyball camps, and then I started playing club. Then I played school ball when I got into seventh grade and I’ve been playing ever since.
VYPE: Here is your chance to give a shoutout or say thank you to anyone you wish.
Tinsley: I would like to thank my family for constantly supporting me in everything I do. They always show up at my games no matter how far away and I couldn’t do it without them. I would also like to thank my friends for always giving me someone to talk to when I need to.
VYPE: What is your favorite part about being on a team?
Tinsley: My favorite part about being on a team is that you always have someone there for you and you make great memories with one another.
VYPE: Which professional athlete do you look up to?
Tinsley: I look up to Zoe Fleck because of her determination and drive. She’s shown me that no matter where you start you can achieve your goals if you put in the time and effort.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade?
Tinsley: My fifth grade teacher Miss Barbee had the biggest impact on me. She cares for her students and took time to teach us and help us understand. She is kind and very thoughtful.
