Raegan Call, a junior at Catoosa High School, loves taking the stage and inspiring others with her voice. Coming from a musically talented family, singing has always felt natural to her. With her passion, dedication, and strong commitment to the choir, Raegan is excited to see where her talent and voice will take her.
From childhood, Raegan was drawn to country music, which has always held a special place in her heart. These early influences fueled her love for singing. Today, she enjoys listening to Laufey along with many country music artists. “I don’t really have a specific favorite artist, I just love music overall,” she shares.
While Raegan loves many genres, she specifically loves musical theater. One of her favorite performances was “I Dreamed a Dream” from Les Misérables. “I performed it for the NATS one year ago, and it’s such a beautiful, real song,” she explains.
Before each musical, her cast does a shake-down and shares a prayer. A tradition that brings them closer together. To calm her own nerves, Raegan focuses on her breathing, which helps her during big performances on stage. Among her most memorable performances was performing at NATS, where her group delivered an amazing performance. She also had an unforgettable opportunity to sing the national anthem at the BOK Center for the Oilers game. Both experiences left a lasting impression that she’ll never forget. For Raegan, singing is more than a performance; it’s inspiring others to follow their dreams and let their voice be heard.
Looking ahead, Raegan encourages younger students to take a chance on choir and get involved in every opportunity they can. Raegan believes singing is about being willing to grow, both in your voice and in your knowledge of music. “Stay humble, and don’t always assume you’re the best in the room,” she offers her opinion. After high school, Raegan hopes to attend college and pursue a degree in fine arts.
