Catoosa’s Cody Busch – Character Counts Presented by LEDJ Home Inspections Owasso

Starting quarterback Cody Busch II could easily be named “Mr. Catoosa” based solely on his love for the school and the community. Busch has enjoyed being part of the Catoosa family and could not imagine going anywhere else.

“I have truly enjoyed my time attending Catoosa High School. Being a part of this community has allowed me to take advantage of the many opportunities that Catoosa High School has offered. I currently participate in their Concurrent Enrollment program through TCC. This has allowed me to challenge myself further and take some college classes, earning credits that will help me kick off my college career,” said Busch. “I have also really enjoyed being a part of the football team and baseball team. We are a close-knit group, and my coaches not only want me to succeed, but have shaped me into the person I am today. Not only have I made lifelong friends, but the Catoosa culture “Indian Up” allows you to feel like you have not only gained the support of your community, but you have also gained a second family.”

As one of the leaders of the football team, setting a good example on and off the field is important to Busch.

“To me, being a leader means to lead by example. I strive to be the best version of myself, stand firm in what I believe in, and always go above and beyond even when no one is looking. I also believe it is important to be encouraging and motivating to my teammates. Inspire them to keep their heads up, have good communication, put in the hard work, and to believe in each other. We need to protect each other as well as our community,” said Busch.

In school Busch is a member of the National Honors Society and he plays on the Catoosa baseball team as a pitcher and shortstop.

Busch said his father has played a huge role in his life.

“He has always been and will always be my biggest supporter. He helps guide me and has taught me so many life lessons. I don’t know where I would be without him,” said Busch. “After I graduate, I plan to go to college. I want to pursue a profession in the medical field and become a Radiologist.”
