Sydnee White is finishing up her freshman year at Catoosa High School. She plays soccer for the Lady Indians and is also a member of the West Side Alliance soccer club. White has invested a lot of time and effort to become the soccer player that she is today and says that it takes more than just physical preparation.

“To be successful in all the sports I play I need to have a good mindset, work hard, and have lots of dedication and fun,” she said. “My biggest motivation is having fun and having kind teammates, and coaches that support me in all the ways that I need it.”

There have been a number of people throughout her life that have been impactful to her both as an athlete and as a person. Sydnee has a couple that have played a big role.

“My biggest role model would have to be my WSA coach, Rhys,” she stated. “He has always been so kind and does not get angry when we mess up. But instead he always teaches us how to do it better. The teacher that had the biggest impact on my life was Mrs. Wendland. If I had trouble with the things she was teaching she would always find a different way to teach it so I could understand.”

Catoosa’s girls’ soccer coach, Jeremy Scott, has seen White’s potential and is excited to see what she can accomplish.

“Sydnee is a freshman that I have had a front row seat of watching her play since she was eight years old,” he said. “She is an elite athlete whose skills keep improving year after year. I’m looking forward to adding her to our dynamic attack and seeing how many goals she can score and create and keep getting better and better.”

There have been moments during her career that have been memorable for Sydnee and there are a couple that stand out as her favorite.

“The personal highlight of my career would have to be when I got a header goal in club soccer,” she recalled. “As a team, it is a joy for us all to work hard together and get a win.”
